Dr. Munther Alqaisi is a partner and the founder of the Mojave Radiation Oncology Group. He is also the Medical Director of the Mojave and San Bernardino Centers. He attended medical school at the University of Baghdad and completed his residency at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Martinez, CA. After his residency, he was the assistant professor of Radiation Oncology at the East Carolina University School of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Alqaisi has served as the chief of Staff of St. Mary’s Hospital in Victorville and is currently the Chairman of both the Tumor Board and the Cancer Committee at the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Alqaisi has expertise in many forms of treatment: Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), 3D conformal Technique, Electron Therapy, High Dose Brachytherapy, and Interstitial Brachytherapy. He is a prolific writer and medical leader. He has publications in not only Radiation Oncology, but also in Cardiothoracic Surgery and other surgical techniques.
Dr. Alqaisi has been married for over 30 years, has one child and two grandchildren. He takes pride in his work and strives to improve access and quality of medicine in the High Desert and Inland Empire.
Dr. Barnes is an experienced Radiation Oncologist who completed residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center. She has been working with the Mojave Radiation Oncology Group for several years. She has a passion for her community and ensuring her patients obtain the greatest outcomes in their care. She often leads Tumor Boards, she serves on the board of Continuing Medical Education for the San Bernardino Community Medical Center, and is also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology at the California University of Science medicine at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Barnes has expertise in many forms of treatment; Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Proton beam radiation, Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), 3D Conformal Technique, Electron Therapy, High Dose Brachytherapy, Low Dose Brachytherapy, and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy. Dr. Barnes also lead several investigations about using proton therapy with benign brain tumors and rare cancers of the eye. Her work has been presented at national meetings.
Dr. Barnes is married and has three children. She enjoys hiking, swimming, playing the piano, and spending time with her family.
Dr. Shahid Latif is an experienced Radiation Oncologist who completed residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center and fellowship at Harvard University. He started out as an attending at Lakeland Medical Center and next became the Medical Director at Casa Grand Radiation Oncology Center. He has proven himself a leader and excellent physician before joining the Mojave Radiation Oncology Group.
During his years helping patients overcome cancer, he has taken a keen interest in serving various committees at several hospitals. He has engaged in regular speaking events regarding cancer detection, prevention and maintaining a healthy life style. He served as chairman of the following groups; Continuing Medical Education, Cancer Care, Radiation Safety and Tumor Boards.
Most recently, Dr. Latif has been appointed as Assistant Professor of clinical Radiology at California University of Science Medicine at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
